If you’re a fan of Jay Chou (周杰伦) or happened to come across one of his latest music videos, Handwritten Past 《手写的从前》, you’ll probably be struck by one very interesting feature in the video, which is a ‘glass house’ cafe where he is singing while strumming his guitar, waiting for his on-screen love interest to return.

Yup, that’s the one, and we in Peninsular Malaysia are really lucky to have not one, not two, but THREE such cafes where we can enjoy coffee and imagine ourselves in the music video (without having to fly to Taiwan)! All three are located within EcoWorld’s show galleries in collaboration with EcoWorld (these guys sure know how to attract visitors). The cafes are Palladium Cafe at Eco Spring Show Village, Johor Bahru; Palladium Cafe Kuala Lumpur at Eco Sky, Jalan Ipoh; and The Parque Cafe at Eco Sanctuary, Klang.

Note: Palladium Cafe Johor Bahru and The Parque Cafe are operated by Coffee Concepts Company in collaboration with EcoWorld, whereas Palladium Cafe KL is run by a different management and sources its coffee and cakes from La Casa cafe in Mont Kiara.

I think we can all agree that the cafe’s eye-catching design definitely makes a highlight in any setting, with a distinctive house-shaped outline and bold minimalist lines. The glass walls of the structure let in plenty of natural light, which not only saves electricity but makes it perfect #OOTD and Instagram-worthy material.

The air-conditioned interior of the cafe itself is quite small, with the coffee brewing area, cake display and cashier taking up almost half the indoor space, and there are only 3 tables, but don’t worry, as there are plenty of outdoor tables and chairs. It can get pretty hot outside, so plan your visit wisely (or prepare an umbrella, fan, and sunnies)!

Don’t forget to try out your ‘wings’ at the cafe’s outside wall, which features a big pair of snowy white angel wings!

Check out the music video below for a glimpse of the ‘glass house’ cafe that attracted so much interest from viewers and inspired the creation of Palladium Cafe!

If you don’t fancy heading into downtown Kuala Lumpur and braving the crazy traffic (we totally understand), you can also head over to The Parque Cafe in EcoWorld Sanctuary, Klang or Palladium Cafe @ Eco Spring Show Village, Johor Bahru for a similar Instagram-worthy ‘glass house’ cafe experience!
