Introduction

The Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) 100 is a cashless financial aid programme introduced under Budget 2025 by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. It provides a one-off RM100 credit to all eligible Malaysian adults to help ease the cost of essential household items.

The credit is automatically loaded onto your MyKad — no registration or application is needed — and can be used at selected retail outlets nationwide.

🛒 What Is SARA and How Does It Work?

  • 💳 Cashless System: Just use your MyKad as a payment card. No physical cash or e-wallet apps involved.
  • 🏪 Accepted at 4,100+ Stores: Including Giant, Mydin, HeroMarket, and even small local shops.
  • 🔄 Balance Rolls Over: Unused amounts can be used the following month and is valid until 31 December 2025.
  • 👥 Individual-Based: Every eligible adult receives RM100. That means a household of four eligible adults may receive RM400 total.

✅ What You Can Buy (14 Categories)

The RM100 credit can be spent on the following 14 essential categories:

  • Rice
  • Eggs
  • Instant noodles
  • Canned food
  • Beverages
  • Seasonings
  • Biscuits
  • Cooking oil
  • Bread
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Flour
  • Household cleaning products
  • Medication
  • School supplies

Examples include Panadol, diapers, toothbrushes, pencils, canned sardines, and more.

🧾 How to Use Your SARA Credit at the Store

  1. Pick Eligible Items
    Look for SARA or MyKasih shelf labels in-store.
  2. Show Your MyKad
    The cashier will scan your MyKad to confirm eligibility.
  3. Change Your Temporary PIN
    Your temporary PIN is the first 6 digits of your MyKad number. During your first checkout, you’ll be prompted to set a new 6-digit PIN.
  4. Scan Eligible Items Only
    Only approved products under the SARA categories will be processed.
  5. Pay with MyKad
    Enter your new PIN to complete the payment—no cash or e-wallets needed.
  6. Take Your Receipt
    Keep your receipt for your own tracking or verification.
