Zuraida: Miti creating code for facility, property management sector
Housing and Local Government (MHLG) minister Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin requested those in the facility and property management sector to hold on to their operation applications, until a code is prepared by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti). “Facility and property management sector falls under the purview of the MHLG. On May 31, 2021, the federal government announced that the Miti will be the central ministry to process applications by essential service companies to operate during full movement control order (MCO 3.0) period. MHLG will release another statement once the code is ready and relevant companies can start the application process with Miti. Meanwhile, do not enter the system yet, because it will create unnecessary congestion to the website as the traffic is very high at the moment,” she said. (Malay Mail)
Pregnant women, nursing mothers can now update status on MySejahtera for suitable vaccine
Expectant and nursing mothers can now register or update their information on the MySejahtera app and the suitable vaccine will be given to them. The Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee (JKJAV) said that the appointments for these women would be given according to the suitable vaccine. “For those who do not use the MySejahtera app, you can call our hotline,” it said on Twitter. Users are now able to update their pregnancy or breastfeeding status under the Covid-19 Vaccination tab. They would be prompted to fill in details such as their expected due dates and whether they are breastfeeding. On May 25, the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (NIP) coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin said a new feature will be available on the MySejahtera app to enable pregnant and lactating mothers to register for vaccination. IRB, PTPTN close operations of several services until June 14
The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) closed the operations of its one-stop counters (tax services) and government special assistance counters at its branch offices, satellite offices, revenue service centres and at its offices at the Urban Transformation Centres nationwide throughout the total lockdown until June 14. IRB said it would also limit the operating hours of its branch stamp centres (PSCs), subject to the working days in each state and by appointment only. Only customers with low-risk status are allowed to conduct transactions at all its PSCs and payment counters. Its payment counters in Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching would open from 8am to 12 noon for taxations matters, while other services would be conducted online, it said, adding its Hasil Care Line would operate with limited hours from Monday to Friday. Meanwhile, all counter services at the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) offices nationwide would also be closed until June 14. Online services on its official portal at www.ptptn.gov.my would continue for loan applications and repayments, the opening of new accounts or making additional deposits to National Education Savings Scheme (SSPN) accounts. Covid-19 cases in Southeast Asia top 4 million
The number of coronavirus cases in Southeast Asian countries exceeded four million, including 78,515 fatalities and more than 3.6 million recoveries, according to official figures. The total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia surpassed 1.82 million, with 50,578 deaths, followed by the Philippines with more than 1.23 million cases and 20,966 deaths to date. Malaysia has so far reported 572,357 cases as coronavirus infections in the country surged to record levels last week. (The Edge)
Malaysia welcomes its third giant panda cub
Liang Liang and Xing Xing, Zoo Negara’s most loved giant panda couple recently welcomed their third cub. The Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) said the cub was delivered around 8.30pm on May 31 in the zoo’s giant panda conservatory. “We can’t determine the gender as the cub is still under the mother’s guard,” the department said in a statement. This is the “power couple’s” third cub since arriving in Malaysia in 2014. They were a part of Beijing’s mission to foster closer ties with Putrajaya. The pandas’ earlier cubs Nuan Nuan dan Yi Yi were born on Aug 18, 2015 and Jan 14, 2018 respectively and have since been returned to China. (NST Online)
