Travellers at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) now have an extra shopping option to spend their time (and money) in between flights.

The Mitsui Outlet Park (MOP) at KLIA Sepang, located a mere 5 minutes drive away from KLIA and KLIA2, will open its doors to the public on 30 May 2015. The outlet park, a Japanese luxury goods outlet mall, will be the first branch in South East Asia (there are currently 12 branches in Japan), catering not only to tourists at the two airports but also locals in the greater Klang Valley area.

The mall covers around 25,000 square metres of retail space, which will house approximately 140 outlets when launched. It aims to be the largest outlet mall in South East Asia, with a total of about 250 stores and 44,000 square metres of floor space, when fully completed in 2021.

As it is a factory retail outlet mall, you can expect to shop for upper-middle to high-end brands like Bally, Aigner, Polo Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, and Hackett London at outlet prices (that’s 30% – 70% off!). There will be a variety of shops at the outlet mall, ranging from luxury and branded products, fashion apparels and accessories, perfumes and cosmetics, chocolates and confectionery, kids and sports wear, to household items and luggage. Notably, the outlet park will be host to online fashion portal Zalora’s first physical store.

  • Pier Walk – a chic, esplanade-like ambiance
  • Tropical Plaza – a greenery-filled avenue
  • Beach Walk – a tropical beach escape

Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang is a joint venture project between Mitsui Fudosan and Malaysia Airports. It is also the first commercial property investment in SEA for the reknown Japanese real estate and retail property developer.

The Mitsui Outlet Park at KLIA will officially open on 30 May 2015 (Saturday).
