1MDB audited assets worth RM51.4 billion
1Malaysia Development Berhad’s (1MDB) audited assets are reported to be worth RM51.4 billion as of the financial year ended March 31, 2014. They comprise current assets worth RM19.5 billion and non-current assets worth RM31.9 billion. Solid assets include two sites in the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) and Bandar Malaysia. (MalaysiaKini)

 

PAC warns 1MDB top execs against further delays
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has warned 1MDB top executives that no second chances will be given once they are summoned again, after failing to attend its proceedings  earlier this week. 1MDB president and group executive Arul Kanda Kandasamy and former CEO Datuk Shahrol Halmi would be summoned after the PAC calls up current 1MDB auditing firm Deloitte and previous firm KPMG. (The Edge Markets)

EcoWorld to launch first Penang project in June
Eco World Development Group Bhd (EcoWorld) is set to launch its first project in Penang in mid-June. The 33-storey condominium project, called Eco Terraces, is expected to be completed in 2019. Felda cleared in London hotel purchase
In December last year, Felda Investment Corp (FIC) announced that it had acquired the Grand Plaza Kensington Hotel in London to “diversify its investment assets”. A news report in March this year revealed that a top Felda officer had been questioned by the Malaysian Anti-CorruptionCommission (MACC) over the purchase. The MACC had announced yesterday that initial investigations did not find any wrongdoing in Felda’s purchase of the luxury hotel. (The Malaysian Insider)

New York celebrates opening of World Trade Center deck
Nearly 14 years after the 9/11 attacks, New York is proud to celebrate the opening of the new One World Observation Deck at the World Trade Center, which offers visitors a panoramic 360˚ view of the city. Standing tall at 1,776 feet (541m), the Trade Center (also known as Freedom Tower) is built on the site of the buildings destroyed in the Sept 11, 2001 attacks. The observation deck covers the 100th, 101st and 102nd floors of the glass tower, and will be open to the general public on Friday. (Business Insider)
