Tabung Haji yet to sell TRX land despite claims of buyers
Lembaga Tabung Haji has not yet finalised the sale of its land in TRX, which it purchased from 1MDB in April, despite claims in early May that there was already a buyer and that the transaction would be completed soon. Minister Datuk Seri Jamil Khir told the Dewan Rakyat that LTH was still evaluating all offers in order to make the best decision, but did not provide a specific timeline for the sale. Thailand tops SEA Games medal table
The 28th SEA Games will officially come to a close this evening in Singapore, and the Games flag will be handed over to Malaysia, who will be the next host country. Thailand led the way in the medal standings with 93 golds, 83 silvers and 68 bronzes, while host country Singapore came in second with 83 golds. Next is Vietnam with 73 golds, followed by Malaysia with 61 golds. (AsiaOne)

Huawei sets up regional ‘cloud exchange’ in Iskandar Malaysia
Huawei Technologies Co Ltd has opened its first regional data hosting centre in the Iskandar Malaysia development hub in Johor. Dubbed the Asia Pacific Digital Cloud Exchange, the centre will gather over 200,000 pieces of digital content from more than 2,100 partners worldwide, and distribute the multimedia services to Malaysian telcos and the rest of the Asia Pacific region. 1MDB annual debt interest up to RM2.7b
Debt-ridden state investment fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) is paying between RM2.4 billion and RM2.7 billion in loan interests annually, second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah told Parliament yesterday. The interest payments are calculated based on 1MDB’s RM42 billion debt pile. (The Malay Mail Online)

SP Setia Q2 net profit triples, but lowers 2015 sales target
SP Setia Bhd’s Q2 net profit tripled to RM227.2 million from a year earlier, and expects to continue doing well in the second half of the year. However, the company has decided to revise downward its sales target for the 2015 financial year from RM4.6bil to RM4bil, due to uncertainty around the UK housing market – where its Battersea Power Station JV is located – as well as tighter lending from banks. First phase of Asia Aerospace City expected to complete in 2018
The Asia Aerospace City (AAC) development aims to be an aerospace business hub that offers a complete business ecosystem for industry players, and currently developing its infrastructure at its Subang Nexus. The development will be constructed in 3 phases, and will house office space, training centres, a convention centre, a business hotel, retail spaces, and the second campus of University Kuala Lumpur’s Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (MIAT). The first phase of construction will begin in Q1 next year, in which the Subang Nexus is expected to be completed in early 2018. (The Edge Property)

Over 1,200 evacuated in Indonesia volcano alert
Two villages with 1,274 residents were evacuated on Monday after authorities raised the alert status of Mount Sinabung, a highly active volcano on Sumatra island in Indonesia. The volcano erupted at the weekend, but no injuries were reported. There are plans to evacuate five to six more villages in the next few days. Mount Sinabung resumed activity in 2013 after laying dormant for years, and 10,000 people have since been evacuated from their homes. (MSN News)
