Continuing from Part 3 previously, we’ve reached the end of our Pet-Friendly Hotels & Resorts in Malaysia series with Part 4, which highlights some of the ones available in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Cameron Highlands.

(Disclaimer: Okay, so I realize that Cameron Highlands is technically within Pahang, bordering Kelantan and Perak, but for the sake of convenience, I’ve grouped places in Cameron Highlands here because it’ll be easier to view.)

Important things to remember when bringing your pet along on holiday:

  • Call in advance to your booked accommodation to make sure they know you are bringing your pet
  • Pick up and clean up after your pet
  • Respect other people’s cultural, religious and personal obligations or preferences

Capri by Fraser, Bangsar South (Kuala Lumpur)
The first thing to note about Capri when searching for pet-friendly hotels is this: all pets except dogs are allowed (and sanitation fees apply). While dog-owners will be disappointed at the pet policy here, others will be delighted to discover that the 33-storey Capri hotel-apartments offer stunning views of the KL skyline, a rooftop bar, outdoor pool and jacuzzi, as well as being equipped with the latest facilities and stylish furnishing. It is also less than 5 minutes drive away from Mid Valley and The Gardens, making it a great staycation venue for city-dwellers.

Sekeping Serendah (Selangor)
Part of the Sekeping retreats family, Sekeping Serendah is located in the sleepy little town of Serendah, Selangor. It is a one-hour drive north of Kuala Lumpur, and you will pass by two Orang Asli villages before arriving at the retreat. City-dwellers can enjoy the simple and rustic lifestyle free from technology at the minimalist ‘sheds’ set within 5 acres of tropical forest. Pets are welcome here; just check out Hero the Sharpei‘s adventures at Sekeping Serendah to see what fun you and your pooch can have at this quaint little retreat back to nature. Edit: It seems that Sekeping Retreats no longer allow pets on their premises. Thank you to our reader Ronald for informing us of the change in Sekeping’s pet policy!
