Are you a foodie who loves to discover and try out new food? Want to spend your weekend nights away from the usual malls, cinemas or clubs? Well, the Kuala Lumpur Food Truck Feast (#KLFTF) might just be the answer to your palate prayers.
Not to be confused with the 4-day KL Food Truck Festival 2015 held at KLGCC in Bukit Kiara next weekend, the #KLFTF is open twice a month – on the first and third weekend – in front of Panggung DBKL near Dataran Merdeka.
Oh, and before you ask: admission is FREE!
The #KLFTF organisers have partnered with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and Batu Road Retailers Association (BARRA) to host the fortnightly event in conjunction with KL Car Free Morning, which takes place every first and third Sunday of the month. (So you know it’s totally safe and legit to head there for noms in the middle of the night or early in the morning.) It also means that you can go green, get some exercise, and enjoy a delicious breakfast in the city on Sunday! 😉
Details of the Kuala Lumpur Food Truck Feast (#KLFTF):
- Every first and third weekend of the month
- Saturday: 9pm – 1am
- Sunday: 6.30am – 9.30am
- In front of Panggung DBKL, along Jalan Raja (near Dataran Merdeka)
While some of the vendors may vary each time, there are several popular food truck vendors which are parked there every week, including Little Fat Duck, Big Hug Burger, Guac!, Teazer, FoodyTruck, Cowboys, Lokka Cafe and Cafe On The Go. Rest assured there will be at least 20 vendors there each time, so there’s plenty of choice even for the most picky eaters. For this weekend, there will be a whopping 22 food trucks lined up to serve all sorts of gastronomic delights – from local to international to a fusion of both – to customers.
All that mention of street food and food trucks has got me feeling really hungry! Time to go try out those mouthwatering tacos, burgers, pastas, and everything else there. 😀 Jom makan!
