Motorists who frequent Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) and the Cheras-Kajang road late at night, you might want to take note of these night-time road closures. The closures are to facilitate MRT works for the TTDI MRT station and Taman Midah MRT station.
Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI)
MRT Corp announced that there will be a continuation of a bound closure in Taman Tun Dr Ismail for 2 and a half months, from July 15 until September 30, to facilitate construction work for the TTDI MRT Station. The closure will be from the TTDI Pizza Hut to Indah Water Konsortium, and will begin from 11pm to 6am, with 5 lanes made available for motorists from KL to the SPRINT Highway.
During the closure, motorists from Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad can take the LDP (SS2-bound) while those from Jalan Leong Yew Koh should proceed to the TTDI Interchange Underpass towards SS2, to access to the SPRINT Highway at the Damansara Utama Interchange near the police station.
Motorists from Kepong heading to the SPRINT Highway (KL-bound) could proceed to the flyover and turn left at Damansara Utama Interchange to join the SPRINT highway, while motorists on the SPRINT Highway heading to TTDI will be diverted to the TTDI Interchange and make a U-turn before the traffic light and proceed to Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad.
Motorists from LDP/TTDI heading towards KL/SPRINT Highway will be diverted to the opposite lane and one traffic lane would be made available for each direction while the junction of Jalan Wan Kadir and Jalan Wan Kadir 3 with Jalan Damansara will be temporarily closed or inaccessible during the contra-flow period.
The closure involves the full slip road from Jalan Leong Yew Koh leading to Jalan Damansara (KL/SPRINT Highway-bound) and to the underpass at the TTDI Interchange as well as the existing Jalan Leong Yew Koh to LDP Highway.
The traffic management plan will also involve the closure of the U-turn to TTDI as well as the closure of the access road to Jalan Damansara from SS2. During this closure, one lane will be made available to motorist from Kajang heading towards the East-West Link Expressway.
Cheras
A road closure at Jalan Cheras near Taman Midah will be implemented until 15 August 2016, between 11pm to 5am, to facilitate launching of Jack roof and related works for the Taman Midah MRT Station.
During the closure, traffic from Kuala Lumpur heading towards Kajang will be diverted to the internal road at the Petronas Station near the Cheras Christian Cemetery and exit to Jalan Cheras via the egress of McDonald’s, while motorists from Kajang will be directed to the lane underneath the future Taman Midah MRT Station.
