Come 1 October 2015 (Thursday), the residents of Kedah will have a new place for shopping, dining and entertainment, as Aman Central Mall in Alor Setar finally opens its doors to the public.
The state of Kedah goes by the honorific of Darul Aman (“Abode of Peace”), hence the name Aman Central by the project’s developers. The 7.03-acre, RM500 million development developed and owned by Great Realty Sdn Bhd of the Belleview Group is located right in the heart of Alor Setar, directly opposite the iconic Alor Setar Tower (Menara Alor Setar), and is set to be a regional landmark providing one-stop shopping and the ideal getaway for families.
A good mix of retail, F&B, and entertainment outlets will ensure that every member of the family will have something to interest them, be it shopping for the latest fashions, working out at the fitness centre, enjoying a movie at the 10-screen cinema, having a delightful meal overlooking the city, or even a friendly competition with friends at the 30-lane bowling alley.
The top-end mall will feature over 330 stores, and a special zone called the “mini shops” to house 60 local traders. Its anchor tenants Parkson, Sam’s Groceria and Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) are joined by a host of ‘first-in-Kedah’ major retail chain stores such as H&M, Uniqlo, Guess, Pandora, Nando’s, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Baskin Robbins, and SportsDirect.com, as well as popular outlets like Daiso, F.O.S., Popular bookstore, Secret Recipe, Starbucks, Sakae Sushi, Watsons, The Body Shop, and many more.
The main attraction will be two levels of lifestyle al-fresco areas called ‘Aman Walk’, which offers guests a unique and enjoyable dining experience featuring a panoramic glass facade created to capture the streetscape along the Alor Star Tower. Other unique features of the mall are the Glass Beacon Express Elevator lined with LED lights for shoppers to soak in the sights of the city skyline and the panoramic glass facade to view the streets along the Alor Setar Tower.
Aman Central Mall, which is the newest and largest mall in northern Malaysia, is expected to attract customers not only from Kedah, but also Perlis and southern Thailand.
